Print Questions

  1. How do I receive my Business cards / Postcards?

Your items are dispatched via our courier company. Once your product has been printed and packed it will be dispatched the next working day. All items are boxed in high-density packing as to reduce the risk of damage.

  2. How long will I have to wait for delivery of my item?

Once you have proofed your item and approved we will get to work as quickly as possible. We generally have items dispatched within 5 working days, but we do advise this process can take anything up to 5-10 working days. We want you to have your item as quickly as possible.

  3. How do I order from you?

Ordering Business cards and/or Postcards is extremely easy! We have an automated system that does it all for you, all you have to do is choose your design/s, enter the details required and that's it! The links are at the top of the page under the "Printing" heading. If you wish to order any other item from us, all you have to do is give us a call or send us an email.

  4. Why are you so cheap?

Well firstly because we have an automated system that does all the work and secondly, because we are. Hooray!

  5. What is a 'Bleed'?

The bleed area is the area that will be trimmed off your final card. The bleed is required so as to not leave any white edges or your item. If you select to proof your card it will appear without trim marks to give you an idea of how it will look once printed.

  6. What image/s can I use on my cards?

We print products to industry standards, I.E 10x8 black and white images. We ask that you scan your image in at as high resolution as possible. Your product will be printed at 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the highest quality. If you provide an image that is not to this standard we will let you know in your backstage proofing area. If you are not sure on how to get the best scan of your image then you can always send it to us, this process will obviously add a few days to the process.

  7. What file types can my scanned image be in?

Your images can be a JPEG (.jpg), PNG (.png), GIF (.gif) or BMP (.bmp), for best results we recomend you scan and save your image using the JPEG image format.
  8. I've completed and paid for my product, what happens next?

If you asked for a Proof in your Backstage area, we will place your image/s and text on your card and upload this to your account for proofing, along with any notes or information. We recommend that you print the image out to proof. If you are satisfied with your proof, you just let us know by entering your initials in the confirmation box and send. Once we have received your confirmation we will start the printing process. If you didn't ask for a proof, we're probably already working on it! You can monitor the status of your order in your Backstage area.

  9. I see you offer a mail out service to agents and casting directors, how does this work?

Once we have printed your item we will then stamp and print the address on the reverse and send them out casting directors / agents, dependant on which one you select during the customisation process.
  10. How can I be sure you have sent them out to agents and/or casting directors?

Once we have received your mail out request we will add your address onto the end of the agents/casting directors addresses. As this is a automated print system your address will be printed and added to the postcards and sent out with the order. Once you have received your postcard you will know that our database of casting directors and agents have picked it up off their mat too!

  11. Can I see the list of your mailing addresses?

Unfortunately not, this is confidential as we do not want competitors to get their hands onto it... sorry

  12. Can I use my home printer to print onto these cards?

The answer is yes with a but. Please be aware that due to the gloss/silk finish to our cards, smudging can occur. Smudging will occur if the ink is not allowed to dry properly. The card we use is NOT inkjet/bubblejet or laser certified.
  13. Are you a "repro" service?

No, we are not a repro service. Our print is produced on high grade silk or gloss card, not on photographic paper. We do not print to 10x8 specifications.
  14. I've scanned my image and/or my image isn't as clean looking as I would like, can you help?

All images we receive are looked at and if there are any blemishes from scanning that can be easily corrected, we will correct them for you.
  15. I want to mail out to agent and / or casting directors but how can I make sure you send my card to a specific one?

If you would like us to mail out to a specific agent and/or casting director all you have to do is provide their name and address in the comments box, which is displayed in the print customisation process.
  16. What if I want to omit a particular agent / casting director to my mail out?

As before, all you have to do is leave a note in the comments box during your order and we will not send out to the specified address.
  17. I'm in a show and would like an image of my flyer on the front with my headshot, is this possible?

Of course, as long as the image is scanned in at high resolution at 300 DPI you can put any image you like on your card. Just make sure you have the permission of the copyright owner!
  18. If I ask for you to do a mailout to agents and/or casting directors, how long will it take for them to receive it?

We will have your printed cards sent to us directly which will take the normal 5 to 10 working days. Once we have printed your cards we will normally address, stamp and send your cards out to agents/casting directors with in a few working days but we will notify you when we have actually sent the cards out. If we have any cards left over, will will then send them on to you.
  19. I already uploaded a headshot in my Backstage account for my website or free profile, why do I need to do it again?

The headshot uploaded in your Backstage area is designed to be viewed by internet users, and is stored at only 72 DPI to save bandwidth. While this is fine for the internet, it is far to small to be used for a high quality print, so we ask you upload a higher resolution 300 DPI image.
  20. After uploading my image, I notced that the edges of my image are missing on the preview. Why?

On certain templates (the ones where the image goes all the way to the edge) we need to put the edges of your headshot inside what's called a "Bleed" area. This bleed area will be trimmed off the edge of your card during the printing process, so your headshot goes right to the edge and you get a nice clean finish. Therefore we also cut the edges off in the preview to give you a better idea of how your final card will look. If you do not like the results, you should use an alternative template that does not go right to edge.
